New Gibson 2016 SG NAKED Limited Edition - Natural Satin Gloss. Un-played, mint, not been a demo in a store.
The Gibson SG Naked solidbody electric guitar is a great tool for the guitarist who believes less is more. The SG Naked is constructed with all of the care, processes, and materials of its famous ancestors. A pair of Gibson's P-90 single-coil pickups was chosen for the ability to be twangy and crunchy or warm and round. But the binding, decorative inlay, and pickguard were left off for a streamlined appearance. The Gibson SG Naked is an ideal choice for the player who wants to plug in, turn up, and go.
SG players will automatically love the SG Naked as a new addition to their guitar arsenal. It shares the same all-mahogany, lightweight body of other SG models. The neck boasts a comfortable Gibson profile. And a thick rosewood fretboard adds sustain and harmonic content to your playing. The pickups on the SG Naked are the same you'll find on the SG Standard P-90.
Like the look of the guitar, the SG Naked's electronics package is about as straight up as you can get. The two P-90 single-coil pickups are ideal for when you need to cover a lot of stylistic ground without the need for complicated switching installed on your instrument. They are as at home through a high-gain amp as they are compressed into a shimmery clean signal. And the 2 volume, 2 tone, and 3-way pickup selector controls let you warm your tone up, balance the output, and go from clean to scream.
The first thing you'll notice when you lay eyes on the guitar is the lack of any of the ornamentation that Gibson is known for. Gone is the fretboard binding. There's no decorative inlay to distract your eye, and the lack of a pickguard lets the woodgrain show through. Another thing that's not there is a high price tag.
